Mission Statement
ISP is committed to carrying forward the genius of Scholastic Philosophy, and further promoting scholastic tradition with a dialogue leading to the integration of Chinese culture and Christian faith.
Thus, aiming at being a specialized center for advanced research on Scholastic Philosophy, ISP strives to fulfill objectives and responsibilities of --
- supporting the role of the university to promote and foster dialogue and interaction between Chinese and Western philosophy;
- nurturing talents of research and teaching of Scholastic Philosophy;
- organizing related activities such as workshops, lectures, symposiums and seminars;
- building up and enriching collections of ancient codes and records of Scholastic Philosophy;
- editing, translating, and publishing research papers, theses and related academic works;
- holding academic exchange projects with other research groups in different areas;
- supporting ISP staff members to carry out research programs;
- promoting cross-strait academic discourse and interaction in order to enhance the fundamentals and spirits of the tradition of Scholastic Philosophy, and assist the cultivation of philosophical education to the clergy of the Christian Church in Mainland China.
